A recent study by Einstein et al1 on patients undergoing MPI examinations highlighted that the cumulative exposures can indeed be high in some patients (in their study, 31.4% received an estimated cumulative dose from all medical sources of greater than 100 mSv, well within the range atomic bomb survivors experienced).
