Contemporary Bioethics provides an introduction to bioethics using a familiar format: a brief introductory essay to each chapter (in this case, 8) by the editors, discussion questions for the readings, readings from the bioethics literature (would it not make more sense for the discussion questions to follow the readings, rather than precede them?), and cases with questions for discussion following each case. (Another book in this genre is Ronald Munson's excellent Intervention and Reflection: Basic Issues in Medical Ethics, eighth ed, Thompson/Wadsworth, 2008.)
