It has been shown that the bacilli may persist in the urine during and long after convalescence, and that the danger of infection from this source demands serious consideration. It is probably true that up to the present time this source of infection has been completely overlooked, and that the systematic disinfection of the urine in typhoid fever has never been carried out.
