AB This little work is evidently written with the best intentions, and contains a large amount of sensible advice. It has the merit also of treating some delicate subjects judiciously and of omitting or rapidly passing over others that, when discussed, are as likely to do harm as good. One or two of the authorities quoted have hardly the scientific weight that is here given them, but that is not a very serious defect. While it is probably true that works of this kind are best addressed to parents and teachers who can communicate to the young the information needed, the present volume is a rather wholesome one, and may be of service to some members of the class for which it is written.
