AB One of the grave problems of modern warfare is the proper care and nursing of the sick and wounded.Our recent experience during the war with Spain has brought the subject prominently to the attention of the military authorities and the people of the United States. The war just ended has furnished the most instructive and forcible object-lesson, in demonstrating the importance and necessity of making adequate preparation for the proper care and management of the disabled soldiers in war time. The motives which precipitated the war were of the purest, noblest kind, arising from the desire to bring freedom and liberty to the legitimate owners of our neighboring islands, who, under the iron rule of an effete, bankrupt monarchy, had been deprived of their liberty, happiness and prosperity for centuries.
