The book commences with a historical sketch of the subject, in which Dr. Findley states that the Jews had a fairly accurate knowledge of the disease, as shown by biblical history; and he goes on to trace the disease through history down to the present time. He then takes up etiology, pathology, course of the infection, methods of diagnosis of gonorrhea in the various parts of the genitourinary tract, the frequency of this disease in women, the relation of gonorrhea to social economy, the various methods of prophylaxis and treatment, and then takes up the systemic gonorrheal infections, including gonorrheal septicemia and pyemia, endocarditis and arthritis. The book ends with a comprehensive bibliography.
