This child had a peculiar facial conformation which then attracted my attention. Some weeks after my first acquaintance with him I saw another, somewhat older, but having such a remarkable resemblance to the first that it was difficult to believe that they were not brothers. These children were mental defectives of the Mongolian type. Since that time I have seen about thirty of these children in practice and in institutions in this country and in Europe.
