AB This slim paperback contains 25 topical chapters on selected subjects in neurology of interest to medical students, physicians-in-training, and primary care clinicians.Although, as the editors suggest, this book by 30 contributors can be read from cover to cover, it would be more prudent to examine a chapter at a time as it pertains to a current clinical patient. With either approach, the book is useful. In essentially every chapter, there is a practicality complemented by a conscious effort not to oversimplify that clearly deserves praise. This is particularly well illustrated by chapter 5 on cerebral vascular disease, in which 15 pages accurately summarize the state of the art of this contentious topic, and in which the figures and tables complement rather than usurp the text. The various chapters are meant to be read through and are written by teachers who give evidence of a rich prior experience in the
