    Fortunately for recovering alcoholic veterans, the US Congress enacted legislation on Oct 20 providing that "the disabling effects of chronic alcoholism shall not be considered to be the result of willful misconduct" for determining eligibility for a time extension to utilize GI Bill education benefits.This moots the recent Supreme Court decision. By eliminating the willful misconduct label, Congress has removed one more inaccurate and stigmatizing characterization of America's leading drug problem.
