Supportive therapy is outlined but no mention is made regarding local injection of 1 cc of 2% procaine mixed with 1 cc of prednisolone suspension, 20 mg/cc, into the area of maximum tenderness, as specific treatment. This was reported eight years ago and provides dramatic relief in hours and complete disappearance of symptoms in 24 to 48 hours.1 With this treatment the observation by the author, "The patient... will not be able to walk barefoot comfortably for approximately three or four weeks," will no longer be valid.
