AB A large arteriovenous fistula, involving the epigastric arteries and the umbilical vein and associated with congestive heart failure, occurred in a newborn infant. An aortogram was made through the umbilical artery. Then the involved vessels were ligated and excised. The cardiomegaly rapidly decreased in size, and the infant recovered. The signs of these fistulas include heart failure, widened pulse pressure, bruit, and thrill.
