Allergic contact dermatitis to some component of his cigarettes, which he held between these fingers, was suspected. Findings from patch tests showed he reacted to the tobacco smoke residues deposited on the filter and to crude coal tar. To our knowledge, no previous case of allergic contact dermatitis from tobacco smoke residues has been recorded.
