AB Multiple endocrinopathies associated with the longterm administration of an anticonvulsant drug, aminoglutethimide (Elipten), were observed in a 19-year-old girl. The patient demonstrated minimal thyroid dysfunction with virilization as the major clinical manifestation of drug toxicity. Virilization was attributed to a disturbance in ovarian steroidogenesis. Evaluation of ovarian function should be undertaken in all women who continue to receive the drug for prolonged periods.
