Tristan and Daughtridge1 reported on the migration of a smooth Steinmann pin into the lung, but we were not able to find any description of the migration of a threaded Steinmann pin from the shoulder into the lung. Here is such a case.Report of a Case:  A 12-year-old boy sustained a birth injury involving the left brachial plexus and had a flail left shoulder. On Nov 13, 1964, in an arthrodesis of the left shoulder two threaded Steinmann pins were used (Fig 1). This healed without event until Feb 3, 1968, when the patient was admitted to the hospital with a two-day history of hemoptysis and fever. The temperature (oral) was 105 F (40.6 C), and he was coughing up gross blood.
