The case was of particular interest since a transvenous catheter was in place in the right side of the heart and thrombi were seen along its course in the right atrium and ventricle and adjacent areas of the endocardium.It is of course possible that the areas of thrombus formation in the right side of the heart may have represented the sources of embolic material to the lungs.
