In a group of 35 men studied, 79 % manifested serum uric acid levels above 6 mg. per 100 ml. It is recommended that, in assessing the proneness of a person to coronary heart disease, the uric acid level be considered, in addition to the cholesterol or other serum lipid levels, family history, and other factors. It is also advisable to use probenecid prophylactically in such patients.
