AB In this volume the author deals primarily with the clinical pathology of burns and, where possible, correlates in a most comprehensive manner the interrelationship of physiological derangements, the clinical findings, and therapy. Major emphasis is placed on organs and systems consistently involved in pathological processes secondary to burns. The bibliography is chosen with care to include only reports that have a definite impact on the subject. The illustrations and charts are excellent and adequately explained. The mortality of severe burns has not improved in the past 10 years. Attempts to favorably alter statistics have been confined in the most part to improvement or, at least, change in therapy. For the first time an author has approached the impasse by reviewing known pathological changes and their possible cause. This book is an outstanding contribution to medical literature and should be of tremendous value to all physicians interested in the proper management
