AB This book contains a series of papers reporting studies on the physical and chemical aspects of radiation and radiobiology encountered in investigations of the cause and treatment of malignant disease. Observations of a preliminary nature which call attention to the basic factors involved in these problems are presented. The book should serve as a reference point for critical students in the fields of radiation and cancer, but it may not find general acceptance by the average reader, since the material is highly specialized. The fact that the book reveals important vistas of this complex subject may result in a future stream of publications on many of the challenging aspects of the problem.
