AB Dr. Singleton has produced a book that will probably become a standard reference in its field. Starting with the esophagus and ending with the anus each part of the gastrointestinal tract is carefully described, with respect to normalcy and congenital and acquired lesions. By correlating anatomy, embryology, physiology, and history the roentgenologic diagnosis is made more meaningful. The technique of roentgenologic examination is clearly outlined for all ages so that the procedure can be duplicated without difficulty. The illustrations are plentiful, well planned, and excellent in quality. The author's style is clear and each part of the anatomy is covered in detail without burdening the reader with extraneous material. The reference lists are brief but wisely chosen. For pediatricians and radiologists this timely book should help solve many problems.
