The book includes well-written summaries of the major neurological disorders as well as abbreviated sections on the principles of neurological diagnosis. The chapter on vascular disorders of the brain has been enlarged to include a discussion of cerebral vascular insufficiency. The author mentions the use of anticoagulant therapy in the treatment of carotid and vertebral artery insufficiency, but he does not discuss the indications and contraindications. The chapter dealing with vitamin B12 deficiency has been expanded. A brief discussion of the brain stem —activating systems has also been added to this edition. The neurological manifestations of sarcoidosis and the collagen disorders, including polymyositis, are not described. The major deficit is the absence of references to aid the student or physican seeking detailed information on a neurological problem. The
