    Dr. Wells Heads Department.— 
    Dr. Benjamin B. Wells, director of cancer research at the M. D. Anderson Hospital for Cancer Research, Houston, Texas, assumed his duties July 1 as head of the department of internal medicine at the University of Arkansas School of Medicine, Little Rock. Dr. Wells, a graduate of Baylor University College of Medicine, Houston, 1935, served on the faculty of the University of Arkansas from 1946 to 1948 as professor of medicine and also as dean the last year.CALIFORNIA 
    St. John's Hospital Fall Clinic.— 
    St. John's Hospital, Santa Monica, will present its first Annual Fall Clinic September 12-14. The program includes symposiums on hyperthyroidism, the genitourinary system and jaundice; seminars in obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and hematology; a clinical pathologic conference, and peripheral-vascular clinic. Out of state guest speakers include Drs. Percy J. Carroll, Harry H. McCarthy and Louis D. McGuire, Omaha, Neb.; Malcolm B.
