AB DR. LEWIS HILL WEED RETIRES 
    Friends and hundreds of leading physicians who have been associated with Dr. "Lew" Weed in the work of the Division of Medical Sciences of the National Research Council for the last eleven years will be shocked to hear that he is seriously ill with tuberculosis involving both the lungs and the larynx and is now in the sanatorium at Saranac Lake. Among the positions he has occupied recently have been trustee of the Institute for Advanced Study, trustee of the Carnegie Institution in Washington, chairman of the Division of Medical Sciences of the National Research Council, member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the American Red Cross, member of the Advisory Council of the Insurance Research Fund and member of the Board of the Honorary Consultants of the Army Medical Library. He was for many years a professor of anatomy in Johns Hopkins University School
