    To determine the incidence of undulant fever in a private practice in the Stock Yards District of Chicago, we studied the blood samples of 100 consecutive patients between the months of June 1948 and January 1949. Of these 57 per cent were female and 43 per cent male, the ages varying from 19 to 63. All laboratory tests were done by the Division of Laboratories of the State of Illinois, Department of Public Health. Only one reaction was positive, and this in a dilution of 1 to 5,120, and 1 person had recovered from acute brucellosis five years previously.
