AB A STATE PROGRAM AGAINST CANCER 
    The Illinois Division of the American Cancer Society has mailed a letter with the approval of the American College of Surgeons, the "Downstate" Projects Committee, the Medical and Scientific Committee of the Illinois Division and the Cancer Committee of the Illinois State Medical Society to the president and the secretary of each county medical society. The letter stresses a growing demand by the public for a physical examination which would aid in early detection of cancer. The establishment of cancer detection centers would be difficult, and it has been suggested that "every doctor's office act as a Cancer Detection Center." The following minimal examination may be performed in each doctor's office. This examination would include a history to elicit possible symptoms of cancer, examination of the various orifices, examination of the skin and palpation of lymph nodes, blood pressure, examination of heart and lungs by
