The subjects include most of the medical and allied science fields at leading universities, colleges, hospitals and foundations. The Surgeon General's Office intends to train personnel whose records and aptitudes show them best qualified to draw the maximum benefits from advanced study. The program, tentatively established in twenty-five civilian institutions, has a twofold aim: to insure advancement in their respective specialties to each of the officers selected and to integrate the best of civilian medicine with military medicine.
