There are four parts to the volume. The first is concerned with the anatomy of the hand with reference to infection, the second with localized infections and clinical entities, the third with lymphangitis, fascial space and tendon sheath infections, and the fourth with complications, sequelae and after-treatment of infections of the hand. Special emphasis is placed on the prevention of deformities and on treatment with function always in mind. The treatment of sequelae of infections has been stressed more in this than in preceding editions. The volume is generously supplied with reproductions of roentgenograms and photographs, diagrams and anatomic illustrations.
