AB Reviewing indications in general for bone graft surgery of the long bones would be merely repetition of what is already of record in many excellent articles on the subject and available in recent textbooks dealing with the management of fractures.Good surgeons have already worked out and proved the efficiency of various types of inlay and onlay bone grafts. The physiologic indications and the mechanical application of either type of graft are matters of judgment for the individual operator. Various methods of transfixing a bone graft or bone grafts have been practiced and published. This feature of the operation has been a rather individual thing with surgeons and may still be going through some transition.Preparation of the host-fragments of bone for the reception of a graft in an ununited fracture is often a tedious and time-consuming dissection. Obtaining a mass of bone for the graft (which is expected to
