The introduction by Lord Webb-Johnson spends several hundred words in defining the term "minor surgery" and points out that it often includes grave problems. The text is a brief résumé of some of the lesser surgical problems which fall into the category of minor surgery. In general the advice given is sound, and the few technics described are well done. In this country the use of coagulants for the treatment of burns has been abandoned. It is surprising, therefore, to find such a method given priority over the use of simple pressure dressings.
