While in this paper I shall deal with local conditions as they relate to my experience, the principles involved are of considerable importance throughout the United States. The need for a more definite integration of the many types of health promoting agencies and the mobilization of our financial resources in order to speed up the production of service to the people is of critical importance throughout the country. Especially is this true in relation to adequate public health and medical service in the smaller cities and rural districts in many sections.
