He has communicated to the Academy of Medicine the results of the preventive vaccination against tuberculosis in the forty-two dispensaries of the Office publique d'hygiène sociale de la Seine, during the past four years. He reported on 1,727 separate observations, 1,404 of which concerned children that had been constantly, since vaccination, in a tuberculous milieu, and 323 of which were on children born of tuberculous parents but brought up in a healthy environment. Of 1,164 children of the first group, comprising children aged (at present) from 1 to 4 years, 240 have died from all causes, which constitutes a mortality of 12.05 per cent, whereas the ordinary mortality is 21 per cent.
