The procedure was called the two flap low incision cesarean section to distinguish it from the original one flap operation. Following this publication McGlynn,2 Hirst,3 De Lee,4 Phaneuf,5 Bailey6 and others have referred to a similar technic in their writings in favor of the low procedure.The advantages of the low cesarean section over the classic operation have been repeatedly emphasized in the literature of the past fifteen years. Most of the reports have been made by men who favored the operation and for this reason some readers no doubt have regarded their work as that of enthusiasts.
