He accomplishes this by disconnecting the syringe from the needle and slipping the rubber tubing leading to the gas apparatus over the butt of the needle, or by attaching the rubber tubing to the needle by means of an adapter. Working under the direction of Dr. Meyer, we have been using this method for some time in primary inflations as well as in refills, and it has proved to be quite satisfactory.
