The illustrations, many of them new, are, almost without exception, highly satisfactory; indeed, only a few, as, for instance, Figure 566, pertaining to tuberculous nephritis, need be replaced by better ones. Figure 462, illustrating gelatinous carcinoma of the stomach, does not seem quite clear enough and should not, as it is now, be referred to as showing, in the strict sense, diffuse infiltrating carcinoma of the stomach. A few minor mistakes have been noted, as, for instance, on page 178—"much experimental data has been brought forward."
