The updated performance measures, released June 13, assess not just how well a physician treats a patient, but also how well the physician helps the patient control his or her coronary artery disease and hypertension (Drozda J et al. J Am Coll Cardiol. 2011;58[3]:316-336). The update was issued by the Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement, convened by the American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), the American Heart Association (AHA), and the American Medical Association.
