In an October 20 letter to Greg Jaczko, PhD, NCR chairman, Markey cited the results from a survey (conducted by his subcommittee) of 1000 thyroid cancer survivors that indicated many were treated with high doses of radioactive iodine on an outpatient basis and released to return home or to stay at a motel, potentially exposing others to high levels of radiation (http://tiny.cc /v5qwi).
