We recently published another study categorizing all patients from INVEST into 4 groups based on age at baseline (<60, 60-<70, 70-<80 and ≥80 years), and approximately 25% to 30% of patients in each age group had diabetes.1 In that analysis, we observed a progressive increase in risk with increasing age for the primary outcome (first occurrence of all-cause death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, or nonfatal stroke), driven by death, as well as a J-shaped relationship within each age group between the primary outcome and in-treatment systolic and diastolic pressures.1
