In Reply: I disagree with Dr Goroll's assertion that AMCs are part of the cause of students not choosing to become primary care physicians. Many US medical schools have made training and graduating primary care physicians a priority.1 By offering scholarships and tuition incentives, AMCs display a commitment to training a 21st-century primary care workforce. Although most students study in large, urban tertiary and quaternary care centers where specialists predominate, medical schools are building efforts to give students meaningful experiences in state-of-the-art, community clinical sites.2
