The Hemovigilance Module is the newest component of the CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network, a confidential and voluntary online surveillance system that the agency uses to track infections associated with health care. The module was created by the CDC in collaboration with AABB (formerly the American Association of Blood Banks), an organization that represents institutions and professionals involved in blood transfusion and transplantation.
