A boy of 12, suffering from essential epilepsy since the age of two and being affected at irregular intervals with attacks of grand mal and petit mal, began to develop an unusual aura preceding the major seizures. Two days before a fit occurs he becomes exceedingly restless, although he is habitually morose, quiet and of a pessimistic disposition. The restlessness is followed by a desire to embrace and kiss any one who enters the house.
