Krause has operated in 12 cases of general epilepsy since 1906, and one of his patients, a man of 31, was so improved that he has been able to manage his large factory for three and a half years. Before the operation he had up to three seizures a day, but since they recur only every fourth or sixth week. Another patient, a man of 21, has had no seizures during the year and a half since the operation. No appreciable benefit was observed in the other cases. Cooperation between neurologists and surgeons will certainly lead to progress in the operative treatment of epilepsy, such as has already been realized in other operative affections of the spinal cord and brain.
