During a special meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) in late July, advisors reviewed historical data on pandemic influenza and epidemiologic data on the currently circulating H1N1 virus to establish which groups should be considered the highest priorities for vaccination. The CDC is expected to adopt the recommendations as part of their larger efforts to prepare for the upcoming influenza season.
