However, individual responsiveness is quite variable, leading to some inconsistencies in clinical trials involving these factors. In addition, as pointed out by Alberts and Hess in their summary of changes to the second edition of Fundamentals of Cancer Prevention, “According to the director of the National Cancer Institute, one of the primary reasons why current knowledge and information about cancer and its prevention is not applied to the general public is due to an overload of complicated information.”
