The unprecedented cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe has worsened and shows no signs of abating, according to data released by the World Health Organization and Zimbabwe's Health Ministry (http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/RWFFiles2009.nsf/FilesByRWDocUnidFilename/JBRN-7PLDAA-full_report.pdf/$File/full_report.pdf). As of February 24, 83 265 persons had been infected and 3877 had died since the outbreak began in August 2008, up from an estimated 18 413 cases and 978 deaths in mid-December.
