The AUC for nuclear stress testing, first published in October 2005, were unavailable for part of the study period. The AUC for stress echocardiography were not published until March 2008. These guidelines and their updates have now been widely publicized and commended by cardiology professional societies.2- 3 Thus, the study's findings do not necessarily reflect a failure of application of AUC, but rather that the AUC were simply not available at the time.
