RT Journal A1 Kuehn BM T1 US longevity falls short vs that of peer countries JF JAMA JO JAMA YR 2013 FD February 13 VO 309 IS 6 SP 534 OP 534 DO 10.1001/jama.2013.475 UL http://dx.doi.org/10.1001/jama.2013.475 AB The report compares US health outcomes and mortality data with data from 16 peer countries, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan. The panel that drafted the report found that the life expectancy of residents of the United States was shorter than that of residents of almost all the peer countries. They also found that the health disparities persisted across health conditions and extended to high-income and highly educated groups.
