The multivitamin doses used in our study were chosen based on findings from a previous trial1 conducted by our group, in which a similar high-dose regimen of multivitamins given to untreated women with HIV resulted in significant reductions in disease progression and improved CD4 cell counts as well as several other important outcomes.
