The last 4 sentences of the final paragraph, which read “Early intervention for wet AMD can delay progression. One treatment is to inject a medicine into your eye to block the growth of abnormal blood vessels. A special form of laser therapy may prevent the abnormal blood vessels from leaking. These therapies may slow progression but cannot restore vision that is already lost.” should be replaced with the following 3 sentences: “Recent advances in the treatment of wet AMD involve injection of medicines into the eye that can cause regression (shrinkage) of the abnormal blood vessels, improving vision. These treatments are usually effective and are now widely used. They have largely replaced the older treatment of laser therapy to the macula, which can also destroy abnormal blood vessels.” This article was corrected online.
