They found 137 cases of leukemia that were confirmed by an expert panel of hematologists and hematopathologists. After excluding 20 cases, they estimated that of the remaining 117 cases (52 of which were non-CLL and 65 were CLL), 19 (16%) could be attributed to low doses of ionizing radiation exposure.
