Based on 17 lectures delivered at a June 2010 conference in Oxford, England, the book has a strong European perspective and many international contributors. The lectures were edited and put into narrative format for publication as a book. The book targets clinical researchers, trainees, and trainers, and it offers them a great deal of valuable new information. Reading the text is akin to attending this academic conference—without the airfare and jet lag.
