To the Editor: The article by Dr Blumenthal and colleagues1 regarding the effects of physical exercise on symptoms of depression in patients with chronic heart failure followed previous reports from the Heart Failure-A Controlled Trial Investigating Outcomes of Exercise Training (HF-ACTION) Investigators.2- 3 The primary aim of the multicenter, randomized controlled trial was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of physical exercise performed by patients with chronic heart disease.2
